The Kappa Tau chapter is so grateful to have a local Children's Miracle Network Hospital in the Upstate of South Carolina at the Greenville Children's Hospital. The money raised by the Phi Mu Chapter at Lander University stays local to benefit the Greenville Children's Hospital. Phi Mu ladies have the opportunity to visit the Greenville Children's Hospital several times a semester where we are able to bring the kids toys and see where our money goes. In the past year, we raised almost $3,000 for CMNH throughout the year. On campus, we do several philanthropy events to raise money for CMNH such as Pie a Phi, an event at a baseball game once a year, bake sales, Parent Social, and making bracelets and cards. We also raise money off campus by having Chick Fil A night, Moe's Night, and waiting tables at Mr. John's Pizza. We have also taken part in fundraisers for friends and family of sisters who are going through hard times.
PIE-A-PHI: Every semester, our sisters come together and volunteer to get "pied" by people who donate money to CMNH. Sisters also volunteer to bring supplies like paper towels, whipped cream, and trash bags. All of the money we raise is donated to our local Greenville Children's Hospital!
Here are some of our sweet sisters at the Pie-A-Phi board.
Here is a picture of Lauren and Keri helping out the sweet kids at CMNH by taking part in Miracle Treat Day with a cool blizzard!
PARENT SOCIAL: Every fall, Kappa Tau invites their family to parent social. We have dinner at the country club and get to show our parents a little bit of what we do every year. We also have a silent auction with baskets donated by sisters. At the end of the night, baskets are sold to their highest bids and all proceeds go to our local children's hospital!
The silent auction for Parent Social 2017 raised over $1420 for Children's Miracle Network Hospital! Thank you so much to our everyone who came to support our philanthropy!
